This project was completed as a conceptual case study.
The Problem:
Create a zine depicting a fashion trend of Fall and Winter 2025-2026.
Create a zine depicting a fashion trend of Fall and Winter 2025-2026.
The Solution:
This 12-page zine (5.5" x 8.5") illustrates the key looks for Fall/Winter 2025–2026. Its compact size is designed for easy carrying, making it a practical guide for the everyday young adult and teenage audience—those who navigate multiple cultures to express their unique identity.
The zine draws inspiration from the sophisticated lifestyle content of The New Yorker and the timeless elegance of Vogue. My research incorporated the latest collections from both luxury brands and recent fashion week streetwear.
My process began by analyzing items from shopping websites and fashion publications to narrow down five core fashion movements. I then designed a cast of original characters to embody these trends. To offer a fresh perspective, I often altered or adapted oufits and items from the original designer collections within the drawings.
Inspired by the dynamic visuals of manga and the illustrative tradition of classic magazines, I chose a unique approach: replacing traditional photography with my original drawings to bring the fashion story to life. Much like how series such as Sailor Moon, Paradise Kiss, Nana, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure became informal style guides, this zine aims to guide audiences on how to layer and wear similar items they already own, transforming my illustrations into a practical, modern lookbook.
Final

Process
Had many changes in the layouts.
I took inspirations from streetwear and high end fashion editorial layouts.

Linework for the characters. Pose references are from the editorial models.
Did the test print to check the typography, composition, and the layouts.
The back cover felt empty. I thought it would be interesting to use this page as narrative page.
