Hyein Anne Kwon is a Visual Communication Design student at Alberta University of the Arts, majoring in Illustration and Character Design. Having lived in Canada, the United States, and South Korea, she draws on diverse cultural influences in her work.
She believes art is the core of storytelling, taking inspiration from fine art for its expressive nature and emotional depth. Influenced by fashion, beauty, books, cinema, and lifestyle—from exploring foods and wellness to traveling—she takes a semiotic approach to understanding the world. She finds meaning in the subtle choices people make to construct their identity, whether it's the bag they carry or the aesthetics they curate. Through a romantic, cinematic lens with strategic depth, she captures the poetry of everyday moments.
Her practice distills complex narratives into simple, accessible visuals. Through illustration, concept art, and graphic design, she creates work that is both insightful and approachable, helping clients and audiences express their most authentic selves by uncovering what is truthful and beautiful about them.
