Hello! I'm Hyein Anne Kwon, a freelance illustrator and graphic designer based in Stettler and Calgary. Born in California and having lived in Seoul and Alberta, my multicultural background enriches my perspective and inspires my creative journey.
As a fourth-year student at Alberta University of the Arts, I'm pursuing a degree in Visual Communication Design with a focus on Illustration and Character Design. My work is driven by a passion to create a visual language that reminds audiences of core values like family and love. Through innovative compositions, I aim to highlight these timeless values in today's fast-paced world.
Inspired by classical literature and non-fiction, I channel my intellectual curiosity into editorial illustrations and concept art. These mediums allow me to inform and engage viewers by translating insightful and complex ideas into visually compelling narratives. I also explore commercial fields in the fashion, perfume, and makeup sectors, where I find beauty in everyday moments and human emotions.
My goal is to uplift others through an aesthetic lens, using my observant nature and problem-solving skills to craft simple yet impactful visual strategies. I'm particularly passionate about bridging Asian and Western cultures through my work, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of diverse lifestyles.
Proficient in Procreate, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, and InDesign, I'm always eager to collaborate on projects that align with my artistic vision. If you're interested in working together, feel free to reach out at anneillustrationart@gmail.com.
