This project was completed as a conceptual case study.
The Problem:
Produce a 5–10-second stop-motion or cutout animation. The entire visual must consist only of cut-out materials(paper, magazines, photos, etc.) on a black canvas. The subject matter should be your interpretation of "dream" and "double trouble."
Produce a 5–10-second stop-motion or cutout animation. The entire visual must consist only of cut-out materials(paper, magazines, photos, etc.) on a black canvas. The subject matter should be your interpretation of "dream" and "double trouble."
Solution:
The animation explores the concept of "dream" through the absurd scenario of a penguin experiencing an altered state of consciousness after sniffing a flower it is physiologically unable to perceive. This cognitive paradox immediately addresses the theme of "dream" and surrealism. The animation further adheres to the "double trouble" theme by visually transforming the penguin’s eyes into a pair of duplicated flowers. The piece is a 5–10 second cut-out collage animation executed using Dragonframe for capture and Adobe Premiere Pro for final editing.
Final
Motion Test
I did the motion test to show how the flower could move around.
This is the sound included for testing.
