The illustration was created for the journal "Blending Tradition with Innovation" for the Calgary Chinatown BIA Student Internship project. The journal discusses cultivating the Chinese culture of Calgary Chinatown through technology. To make the street festival more dynamic and fun, I included myself and my friends as characters. I tried to incorporate the elements the journal talked about, such as VR, a robot, and the Canadian flag. The emotion I wanted to picture was joy and happiness. I also tried to depict the hope Calgary Chinatown BIA has to introduce Chinese culture to the non-Chinese community.
