The Problem:

Capture the essence of CHANEL ROUGE ALLURE Luminous Intense Lip Colour - 176 INDÉPENDANTE.
The Solution:
The lipstick is 'Indépendante' from Chanel, which my mom purchased for me at the airport duty-free store. She thought the shade would suit me well. Ironically, the name—Indépendante/Independent—is one of the adjectives I was told most often growing up to describe who I am, both to myself and to others.
Reflecting on my journey toward independence, I connected this memory to a figure drawing that is part of my routine work. The drawing's background is the same colour as the lipstick's asset color, and the bold brush strokes imply the rough, yet sensual, nature of this shade. Furthermore, the black and white simplicity of the figure itself recalls the simple, bold essence of independence.
