This project was completed as a conceptual case study.
The Problem:
Create the author stamp design to celebrate the author, including the denomination, country name, and graphic design. The graphic element of a stamp design falls into one of four major categories based on classic stamp design: Portrait bust - profile or full-face; Emblem - coat of arms, flag, national symbol; Numeric - a design built around the numeral of value; Pictorial - greatest variety of stamp design seen today.

The Solution:
As an Irishman, Oscar Wilde often expressed a fondness for the color green, which served as the primary inspiration for this stamp design. Green is also deeply tied to Irish identity, so I incorporated it as well. My goal was to celebrate both Wilde’s persona and the natural landscapes of Ireland. To achieve this, I used textured brushes and crosshatching to evoke Ireland’s organic atmosphere while maintaining the classical, delicate aesthetics Wilde valued. I selected the typeface Dutch Mediaeval Pro to capture a historic European feel that remains consistent with the intricate quality of my linework. Inspired by Irish postage stamps, I added the vintage paper texture to make the overall tone look cohesive and natural to the soft paper feeling.
